Chuck Vosburgh

I was born in St. Petersburg, Florida and live in Seminole, Florida where I work as an artist, educator and author.

My interest in art was evident very early in my life, and both of my parents encouraged and participated in my early creative development.

I continued my art training in school, and won many awards and honors for drawing, painting and photography. Encouraged by this early success, I applied to the Executive Internship Program in my senior year of high school. The internship was at a local advertising agency where he learned from some of the area's most talented artists, writers and photographers. I continued working at the advertising agency at night while attending school for visual communications. After graduating, I began working full time at the advertising agency and was eventually named general manager and senior art director. In 1986, I went out on my own and never looked back.

Today, I continue to work as a full-time professional artist and teach part-time at local colleges and universities. I'm also the author of three college textbooks. I've also written many magazine articles and am a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars.

I work with a variety of materials and techniques and select the appropriate materials and technique for the feeling I want to communicate. I approach each new piece with the same enthusiasm I felt when my first piece was created. With each new subject, I reinvent and build on the techniques I have developed. I love to see people view the work I have created. This completes the communication. I believe artwork is pointless without interaction.

The way I see it, the main directive of my art is to communicate quickly and clearly.
